◎简　　介
高中毕业了，一群少男少女们必须对他们的前途作出抉择。在女友卡门的鼓动下，来自阿根廷 的富家子弟约翰尼.瑞科毅然违背父亲让他上大学的意愿，报名加入了机械化步兵学校，而卡门则 选择了海军学院，她梦想当一名星际舰队的女飞行员。
在训练过程中，卡门暗恋上了冷酷英俊的教官巴卡洛，而瑞科则与分配在同一军营中的女同学 迪齐.弗洛瑞丝产生了感情。不久，从瑞科的老家布宜诺斯艾利斯传来了遭外星球昆虫袭击的消息，他的家人和朋友均遭屠 杀。负责侦察的卡门将从空中拍摄到的录像资料传送给已升任为军官的瑞科，悲愤交加的瑞科决定 率领部下投入战斗。

《星舰战将》是结合了40年代的战争电影和50年代的怪兽电影，企图以最先进的CGI电脑特效位科幻动作片开拓新境界。从荷兰时期开始，国际级导演保罗范霍文(paulVerhmven)的电影类型丰富而多变，涵盖了历史史诗、战争片、异色心理惊悚片以及成长戏剧。范霍文的作品向来偏好坦白呈现性以及暴力，同时直接反映了他所居住的社会，而他也从不犹豫地去描述他所看到的现象。当范霍文从荷兰转往好莱坞发展后，他决定必须在题材上做一些改变，因为他自认对美国文化不甚了解，要拍一些反映美国社会现况的电影可能会出大错，於是他想到可以尝试拍科幻片，因为他不必担心会触犯任何美国社会规范，他认为科幻片能够反映这些规范但不全然代表它们，而且他自己一直是50年代科幻电影的忠实影迷。
